I’m passionate about art and education – and the intersection between the two. Following the completion of my degree at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, I pursued acting in New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto prior to becoming a professional educator. As a qualified Ontario teacher and guidance counsellor, I have worked in a variety of schools with children and youth of all ages. I regularly work with youth attending single-sex private schools to address their specific and nuanced needs and their educational environment. Like many artists, I have participated in many creative sectors, including casting, creative development, and I have also worked as a writer, director and producer in my own film production company.
The shift to becoming a professional life coach has been organic. To further educate myself in the field, I have attained certification as a Solution-Focused Counselling and Coaching Specialist. I studied this approach at the University of Toronto within the Faculty of Social Work, Factor-Inwentash.
Throughout the changes in my journey, one thing has remained constant; I find the positive in every situation and go after dreams, professionally and personally. My goal is to help others dig deep to increase their personal resilience. I know from experience that personal resilience starts with the individual, but leads to community building and increases social capital and sustainability at the macro level.
I look forward to working with you!
Catherine
P.S. I also love sports, dogs, family, friends, ice cream and laughing.

Warrior Within will involve the creation of a short art film that uses metaphor and imagery to help engage students in their understanding of stress, anxiety and how to individually develop their own resilience.
Driven by the student voice, the film will also involve the exploration of art, music production and photography by other students alongside the film.
The short and all its creative facets, will go on to inspire a student-driven curriculum aimed at filling the dearth of creative pedagogy regarding positive mental health for youth.
“Catherine is uniquely in-tune with the needs and feelings of both of my girls (ages 11 and 13), even though they could not be more different. She has provided them each with guidance, friendship and the tools to tackle just about anything life might throw their way. We are lucky to have her in our lives.”
